Known throughout the system as "Joz", Derek has put in countless hours in every aspect of the Inferno/New Era system from being a member/player when the Depew facility first opened to working as a Coach, Instructor, Batting Cage attendant, and Grounds Crew Member. Derek plans on graduating from SUNY Fredonia in may. He played his high school baseball at Lancaster High school and has continued his baseball career since in the AA MUNY, AAA MUNY, CEBA collegiate league, and Canada's MABL league. This summer he will return to AA MUNY once again playing for Team New Era's adult team. As a coach, Derek works to teach his players the importance of the fundamental aspects of the game. He pushes them to work harder then everyone around them to not only better themselves, but better the team as a whole. Derek pushes his players to be the best that they can be both on and off the baseball field and to have respect for the game, your opponents, your team, your coaches, your parents and yourself.
